Have you ever thought of marketing? What is it? What is it used for? Even if you probably never realized this, marketing is everywhere, and it is needed everywhere, even in your daily life. Why should you need to know about it? Because it helps you think smart, take better decisions, outsmart people, be more organized, and most importantly, don’t get fooled.
First of all, think! Decide who you are and what you want. Usually there are three types of buyers:
- The first one is the experienced buyers- they know exactly what they want. These people have purchased the products before, were satisfied with them and will purchase again. No big deal here actually. You bought something, you liked it and you decide to buy it again.
- The second one is the people looking for image. These want something extravagant, expensive, branded. This category does not look at the costs, as it always wishes to impress. There is nothing wrong in spending a lot of money on something, but sometimes, some people are impulsive and do not take into consideration many other factors. (Does it actually look good? Is it appropriate? Where/ how could I wear/ use it?) Just because it is expensive and branded it does not mean that it is made for everyone, for any occasion, or it can be used everywhere.
- The third type includes the people who take into consideration everything. They think first about the price and functionality of the product. They will never pay more for a brand if they know that they can get the same quality for a lower price.
None of the types are more or less important than the others. Decide which type of buyer you are, and what you are looking for. Keep in mind that you can be more than one type, depending on the situation.
